ACE Tempest Reinsurance Ltd., a Bermuda company, announced today the appointment of Andreas Lewin as President, effective immediately.
Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Global Re, David Furby, Mr. Lewin will assume day-to-day management of the property and casualty operations of ACE Tempest Reinsurance Ltd. in Bermuda. Mr. Furby will assume Chief Executive Officer responsibilities pending approval from the Bermuda Department of Labour and Immigration. Mr. Lewin replaces Christopher McKeown, who served as President & Chief Executive Officer since July 2002.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Lewin had been Chief Underwriting Officer, US Property, for ACE Tempest Re. Mr. Lewin joined ACE Tempest Re as Vice President Underwriting US Property, in April 1998, when CAT Limited was acquired by ACE.
Mr. Lewin, a Bermudian, holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston.
