ACE Tempest Re Group, the global reinsurance operations of the ACE Group of Companies, announced today that James Wixtead has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of ACE Tempest Re USA, ACE’s Stamford, Connecticut-based reinsurance subsidiary.
Mr. Wixtead will be responsible for ACE’s traditional and non-traditional property and casualty reinsurance business in North America. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Wixtead served as Senior Vice President, ACE Global Reinsurance. He succeeds Jacques Bonneau, who was recently named head of the ACE Tempest Re Group.

Mr. Wixtead has served as Senior Vice President since he joined ACE in April 2000. Prior to joining ACE, he held a number of senior assignments with Gerling Global Corporation of America, Constitution Reinsurance Corporation, and General Reinsurance Corporation. Mr. Wixtead earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics at Bowdoin College.
