Gus Hardart was appointed Chief Financial Officer for the ACE Group's Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance operations in June 2008.  He is responsible for the financial and operations oversight of both ACE Bermuda Insurance Ltd. and ACE Tempest Re Group.

Mr. Hardart previously served in the role of Chief Financial Officer for ACE Tempest Re's global operations from 2002 when he joined ACE, until 2006 when he transferred to the position of Chief Financial Officer at ACE Bermuda.

Mr. Hardart joined ACE from the Bermuda office of Arthur Andersen where he served as Audit Partner with responsibility for the finance, human resources and audit departments. Previously he held the position of partner-in-charge in the company’s Grand Cayman office.

Mr. Hardart holds the Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Accountant designations and obtained his bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Georgetown University, Washington DC.
